(b. 1972, Timaru) Biography
- BFA(Hons), University of Auckland ~ Elam School of Fine Arts, 2016
I am a Fine Arts graduate, having completed my Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) at the Elam School of Fine Arts, University of Auckland. My art practice is one of disclosure and reflection, drawing on personal life experiences as the foundation for my creative process. I work across multiple disciplines, creating mixed-media works that include drawing, painting, and photography.
My work examines the ways in which domestic environments become specific — shaped by memory, intimacy, and everyday interaction.
I construct forms through social and personal connections, expressed through an interplay of abstract line, colour, and sculptural elements. My interests extend into the psychology of self and identity, examining intransitive activities and the tensions that emerge between thought, perception, and the visualisation of emotion.
